Each one of us is a Star of David

Each one of us is a Star of DavidMy wife's drawing on some fruit pod, maybe Erythrina Caffra.

Translation of the Hebrew words:
Each one of us is a Star of David.
In Hebrew the sentence is made from six words so that each point of the six-pointed star aims at one of them.

Christmas and Hanukkah

Christmas-Hanukkah-hexagramPhoto is courtesy of Travis Bigrigg who wrote to me:
The picture is a Star of David that my daughter made at her preschool. My family does not celebrate the religious aspects of any faith. We do celebrate the cultural celebration of Christmas and Hanukkah although we do place more importance on the traditions of Hanukkah.

For most Israelis the appearance of their national emblem in a Christian context might come as a surprise, but not to me... I already knew about it a year ago and looked for the right photo in order to share this with my readers.

Toledo, Spain

Star-of-David-statue-spain artPhoto of Star of David on the statue of Samuel Halevi is courtesy of Joel Washing who published it on Flickr. He wrote to me that:
"Halevi built the Sinogoga del Transito in Toledo, Spain [in the 14 century]. The statue was created by a woman named Rosa Hildalgo, who lives in Toledo, Spain. The statue sits very near the synagogue. It is a recent work, I would say within the last 20 years".
